“Music is an art which has no parallel”

– J.S. Bach

LIVE From London is back this Easter 2023, bringing together an unforgettable celebration of classical music, with iconic works by the great Johann Sebastian Bach taking centre stage.

Kicking things off on Palm Sunday is a performance from Barnaby Smith of works from his new album BACH.  Featuring iconic solo cantatas, the recital is interwoven with arias from Bach’s great oratorios, all in combination with the acclaimed early music ensemble, Illyria Consort.  Good Friday then provides a previously unreleased performance of St John Passion, filmed live at Cadogan Hall last year.  VOCES8 join forces with the English Chamber Orchestra, bringing this timeless masterpiece to life like never before. To complete the Bach extravaganza, Easter Sunday sees the return of LIVE From London’s ground-breaking production of Bach’s Mass in B Minor filmed at the stunning Church of St Bartholomew in central London.  Together VOCES8, the Academy of Ancient Music, and a quartet of sublime soloists give viewers the a chance to experience one of Bach’s most famous and complex compositions.

Alongside these classic works, the season will also feature the exciting new album Invocations by the young and talented ensemble Apollo5. Born out of the group’s desire to share fragments of their life stories with audiences, the performance encourages listeners to discover their own ‘life music’. Providing a unique blend of traditional choral music and contemporary styles, this filmed concert showcases the versatility and creativity of these musicians.

Don’t miss this chance to experience the best in classical music, direct from the heart of London. Whether you’re a lifelong Bach fan or simply looking for an uplifting musical experience, LIVE From London has something for everyone this Easter season.
